APRIL IS SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH

Whatever the nature and scope of your trauma, this is a good time to remind yourself that you are not alone.  

 Sexual abuse and assault leave lasting scars. Recovery may take longer than you expect.  It has for me.  However, I have found that as I continue this journey of healing, I do not remain in the same place as when I started.  That brings me hope.  I sometimes need to look backwards to give myself credit for all the progress I have made since I began.  Just as life is a journey, so is healing from sexual abuse and assault.  I get to enjoy the moments along the way that bring me happiness and peace.  So can you.

As we have worked to build a solid foundation for Courageous Survivors, we have been trying to create clear definitions of who we are and what we are doing!

We’re really excited to share our Purpose, Vision and Goals with you.

We think these really sum up what Courageous Survivors is all about and help us to maintain focus on what we are trying to achieve.

Our purpose is

supporting survivors on their path to happiness

which will enable us achieve our vision of

empowering every adult survivor of sexual assault and abuse

and to meet our goals of

connecting survivors with others who understand
offering resources that help survivors
creating support groups for survivors

Keeping you up to date with what’s been happening since our last Newsletter

Our new Board of Directors has come together and started the work of accomplishing our goals! You can meet the new Board members at About Our Team!

Sharing through our writing is an important tool on our personal journeys - our Survivor Writing section has lots of new and interesting posts. Read them for yourself!

One of our goals is to create support groups for survivors and the Board has started the work of planning these. Check out all of our goals on our new About CS page.
