Courageous Survivors is hard at work planning for 2 events.

We will be marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month with a balloon releasing event in April. This event will be for survivors, and all who are interested in joining and supporting survivors. Keep up to date with all the plans by checking our website.

We are also deep into planning our Fall 2024 Evening of Hope Gala (date TBD) We hope you will be able to join us for this annual inspiring and fun event.

I was born in Salt Lake City Utah. I have five sisters and two brothers. My childhood was beautiful and was grounded in family and faith. 

I attended Brigham Young University for two years. It was there I met my first husband Wil Cardon. We were married in 1992. We then both transferred to schools in California. My husband attended Stanford University and I attended San Jose State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. 

Shortly after we moved to Arizona where my husband was born and raised. He worked for a fourth generation family business. I worked in corporate America for a Corporate health and wellness company.  Two years later my husband was accepted to Harvard Business School so we relocated to Boston Massachusetts. While living there I working for Bain and Company a consulting firm. I was a recruiter for them at Wharton Business School in Philadelphia.  I also earned my associates degree in interior design from American Institute of Interior Design. 

After business school we moved back to Arizona. My husband began running his family business and we also began growing our family. Over the course of the next 12 years we had five children. I stayed at home and helped my husband grow his business. We sat on several boards together. We were heavily involved in politics and community service. 

In August of 2017 my husband took his life after many years of depression. He suffered from emotional incest, among other things. 

In 2021 I remarried a wonderful man who had lost his wife to cancer. We now are blending families. We have eight children together, three boys and five girls. Currently, six of our children are in college in Utah and we have one 14 year old at home. 

Megan Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. She has worked with survivors in a professional capacity since 2005 and knows the devastation sexual abuse and assault can have. Megan has a passion for helping others find the hope and healing they need and deserve. 

A survivor of sexual trauma herself, Megan also works to break generational trauma and patterns with her own daughter. Being able to make the world a more resilient place, Megan wants to make sure that survivors know there is always hope and they are never alone.

It will soon all be a memory. Moments you try to remember clearly. 
Remember them clearly now. Love the memory you're living.

Courageous Survivors’ Support Groups

Online Group for women survivors of sexual trauma meets Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm (AZ Time)

The group is led by a licensed therapist and focuses on support, hope and healing. To join or get more details, contact janet@courageoussurvivors.org

Ruth Place Group Program

If you are interested, or know of anyone interested in a unique program specifically tailored to post traumatic growth for survivors of sexual trauma, please contact janet@courageoussurvivors.org Courageous Survivors has partnered with Ruth Place and we have full and partial scholarships available for those who may need help with the cost.
